It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
I have purchased numerous hats from Connor Hats for myself and as gifts, and wear them all the time, literally, to save my skin, hair, and keep the sun out of my eyes. I also don’t use an umbrella when it rains—hats work.
New Zealand-Australia-Bhutan-7 months, Africa-5 months, Indonesia-Malaysia-4 months - I get asked about my hats everywhere, as people like them. It’s hysterical.
I have a big head(!) and one size fits all NEVER works for me. I take a men’s large generally. Connor Hats offer great variety, the travel hats can be squashed and spring back to life.
Other than my passport and credentials, my Connor Hats are the most important item in my travel pack and this latest Water Resistant Cotton Outback hat is excellent. Wore it walking my neighbor’s dog a week ago when it was pouring-it’s perfect. It will be with me on my next adventures. One note, the large is this hat is a little larger than the usual large hats that I purchase, though I can still wear it if it doesn’t ever stretch out, so I also have the medium that I may try to force stretch a bit. In this hat, a cross between the two would be perfect for me. Still recommend this hat and will wear it!
Have only had the hat a few days and not worn yet. Hat looks just as expected , fit is a little big compared to outback trader hats I have bought.
Great hat quality product.
Used my new Tracker Water Resistant Cotton Outback Hat for my first retirement fly fishing trip this past week in central Washington. It kept the 80+ degree heat from cooking my head, but unfortunately it didn't help me catch a monster trout. Nevertheless, I love it, and am very pleased with my purchase. I have a small head and so the reducing strips proved essential and worked well. Thank you.
