It's best to spot clean all cloth hats with a damp cloth using cold water, or hand-wash in a sink if necessary. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic for our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing.
Another option to take out wrinkles on the brim is to place a clean rag or old T-shirt over the wrinkled area then iron the area.
Got this as my work, rain hat. It is comfortable and stylish! So glad I found Conner hats. To have such a ethical, sustainable, family run business with such great products are far and few between. I’m a Conner hats customer for life. Thank you!
I previously ordered a different hat from Conner Hats, but it was too small & I had to return it. The return process couldn’t have been easier. I wanted a hat I could wear all year round & that provides good sun protection. After researching hats & emailing customer service a few times (Thank you, Cole & Corbin!), I decided on the Murchasin River Hat. This is the perfect hat! It fit absolutely perfect out of the box (the sizing guidelines are spot on). It’s lightweight, but not too light. It looks good, is extremely comfortable, offers fantastic sun protection, & was waterproof in a steady rain. It’s not summer yet, but it feels to be the perfect weight for any season. Conner Hats is a wonderful company that cares about their customers & the environment and their customer service is the best!
This is a great looking hat, very comfortable, and water proof. I bought it for the rains we're having but will enjoy it in the summer. I get nothing but compliments with this hat. I love that it has a strap for dealing with the wind.
great casual hat, comfortable
I love this hat. Good protection from the sun, and it collapses flat so I can fit it into my luggage. I took off one star because there were two issues.
One was size. My size is 7 7/8, and according to the Conner size chart 2X fits both 7 3/4 and 7 7/8. This is not really true, it only fits 7 3/4. I could get it on my head but it was uncomfortably tight. I own a hat stretcher and stretched the hat and it fit well after that. The cloth that the hat is made of stretched well, not all hats do well in a stretcher.
The other issue was the chin strap. I needed to have a strap with this hat, because I was going to use it on a boat. I did not like how the chin strap worked on this hat. It was one of those straps that not only goes under your chin, but there is also a loop that goes behind your head - like a military "smokey" hat. I don't like the rear loop, and think it is totally unnecessary. I solved this problem by cutting the strap in half and running the cut ends into the strap holes and then tying a knot in them so they won't pull out.
But after these minor alterations the hat was perfect for me, and I am very pleased.
