Straw hats can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic to our waterways.
Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing. Always place a hat upside down on its crown if you do not have a hat rack for storage.
Many of our straw hats come with a wire in the brim so you can shape the hat to match your style. With a little practice you can reshape your hat brim easily. Western styles are generally worn with the brim turned up on the sides and Australian style hats look great with a dip in the front and the back.
I bought this hat about 4 years ago at the Boulder Creek Fest and absolutely loved it. I wore it all the time but wasn't super gentle with it as I figured I'd replace it in a couple of years at the same Festival. Problem is, the hat stand I got it from was nowhere to be found. This year, my hat was on its last leg so I decided to look up the company name on the label which brought me to the Conner website. Wow! The hat was exactly as my first, and I was able to easily reshape it to my liking. It had a little dent on the top from the shipping, but the Conner website showed me how to steam the hat to take those little misshapes out and now it is perfect! I always get tons of compliments about it too. Thanks Conner Hats!
Luv the hat, The pic. Showed a dark brown, which is what I ordered. I received a black. Still want the dark brown.
