Care Instructions

Straw hats can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth. We recommend using plant-based soaps because regular detergents can be toxic to our waterways.

Always let your hat dry naturally. If your hat gets out of shape, you can use steam from a tea kettle to reshape it. Hold the hat in the steam and allow it to soften. You can then reshape your hat to its original shape and then let it cool down before wearing. Always place a hat upside down on its crown if you do not have a hat rack for storage.

Many of our straw hats come with a wire in the brim so you can shape the hat to match your style. With a little practice you can reshape your hat brim easily. Western styles are generally worn with the brim turned up on the sides and Australian style hats look great with a dip in the front and the back.

Amazing hat

This hat came packed so well and it very beautiful. I made sure to read how to store it, crown side down to prevent brim getting out of shape and ordered a hat hat storage container for it. I took advice and ordered some Nix water proofing spray, so hopefully that helps with longevity. I love the unique mottled mottled appearance and the beading. I hope it doesnt get too floppy like some of my other hats, the best part is that it has large brim and I can actually see as it stiffer, so hopefully it stays that way. The only criticism I have is that is didnt come with a chin strap and they dont sell one on the website so I had to order one, and that was more difficult than expected. Chin straps are all either really cheap and ugly or expensive and western style online, but I take these types of hats to beaches and tend to lose them to a good gust of wind and this is a nice hat. I also need need to get some hat foam strips to adjust it as I have a small head. I wish they sent a couple pieces for free, but I'm sure I've got some foam in the garage or something. The sweat band is nice quality, the entire hat just seems really nice quality but I haven't actually worn it much as it's for an upcoming trip. It arrived in one day, but it seems to have come from in Jacksonville and I live near Tampa FL. I would love to order some additional hats in the future, I especially like the ones in colors such as sunset or raspberry.
