I really enjoy being a part of our hat photoshoots and it’s fun to watch the photographers and everyone involved on the production side do their thing. Our photographer for this shoot was Carly Brown, we love her style and she has a calming personality and was kind enough to introduce us to Bee Cooper, Sky Jamieson and Montana Lower. Three beautiful women with super fun personalities. It’s all about personality!
Generally on a shoot we use just the shots we need for our web site or catalog but there are always so many extra shots that go unseen and so from time to time I’m happy to share them with you on our hat blog.
When I first started doing photo shoots the models were friends of mine that I tempted with a few beers and a free hat or two and who were kind enough to hang out with us for a day and venture into random spontaneous locations (abandoned farm houses and cow paddocks with the occasional angry bull) I still have a few good friends who shoot with us now days .
One of them is Dane Burke, Dane has been amazing to work with, not only does he look good in our hats (it’s hard to find good guy models) he is an all-around epic guy. Dane let us use his family farm as the location on day one of this shoot. Beautiful Byron Bay hinterland views, a wood work shop, a cabin with a pond and dock and various old farm fences and hundred year old trees.
On the second day of this shoot we moved to Wategos beach, one of Byron Bay’s iconic beaches. I love the Pandanus trees at this location and green grass meeting white sand meeting emerald water. Paradise!
